Complex Family Clinical Begins

05 Oct

Last night was our first clinical day for our Complex Family rotation.  Hey, I got to wear the green “2nd year” scrubs, so that was good.  Our typical shift will be 3pm-3am, but due to a conflict with another clinical group, all we did yesterday was attend a brief hospital orientation and learn a little about the computer system.  After we finished at the hospital, we headed back to campus for a short lecture by the clinical instructor. Psych Clinical Complete

20 Sep

Just finished up our psych clinical today.  I can’t believe how fast the past five weeks have gone!  It hardly seems long enough, but we were all able to work through all three phases of the therapeutic relationship – Orientation, Working, and Termination.  When we started, it felt like there was no way that we were ever going to get past the orientation phase.  It was so awkward and uncomfortable walking into the clinical location.  We nervously took turns Read the rest of this entry »

Here We Go Again

24 Aug

Here I sit just a few short hours before the first nursing lectures of my second year begin, and I’m ready to get going.  Well, some of us actually got started yesterday.  My clinical group started the psych clinical rotation yesterday.  I enjoyed it, and I think everyone else in the group did as well.  I know the residents in the facility Read the rest of this entry »
